Books to the Sky

“Books to the ceiling, Books to the sky, My pile of books is a mile high. How I love them! How I need them! I'll have a long beard by the time I read them.” ― Arnold Lobel

I love books. I firmly believe that a house without books is not a home. Also that you can never have enough books. I’m not a gourmet though. All kinds pass through my hands, from timeless classic to cheap forgettable schlock.  I love almost all of them, each in their own way.

My only real problem with books is my memory. When I remember a book I read once before, one that I remember a little of the story and a lot of the emotions, but not the name. That, to me, is a tragedy. And it happens more frequently than I’m comfortable admitting, especially books that I have borrowed from a library or a friend. This blog is my attempt to augment my memory, thus avoiding future tragedies.

There will be spoilers throughout the blog, hence the “read more” break. I won’t be warning anymore than that before I spoil, either.  I wish I could, but I know that I would miss something significant. So to quote Big Bang Theory’s Sheldon, “I would if I could, but I can’t so I shant.”
